With all that's been going on at school, I've finally was able to make a website.
And even though I am still compiling the art in it's own sections I am always updating it.
But since you've haven't seen art here in a while I reward you with a peek at a finished page of the children's book illustration! Enjoy! The full lot will be here soon! The story of this Children's Book is called "Chopsticks" a book originally written and illustrated by Jon Berkeley. This is my visual retelling of the story. My new website is www.joshuaotero.com

So after a while I realize my skills are fading with time as I focus on other mediums (zbrush)
So here is a quick cow seahorse thing I've done to keep my digital painting skill up.
unfortunately my traditional painting hasn't been so successful... so I will be posting some up as soon as I get a chance.

Alright. I had just received my critiques this week and they were all fair. For my advanced illustration class I had to do a fairytale. So I chose The Tortoise and the Hare.
As for my Zbrush class I learned a lot. understanding the tools. and dealing with certain issues that came with the program. I had fun doing this. I plan on making more during my off times. Despite the fact that my character's eyes were a bit bulging out of his head, I want to refine this craft a bit more. Enjoy!

These are but a few things I've done. One being My version of Nintendo's Mario®
I've also done a scene of a forest.
And sketches of Multiple versions of Me in different styles.
Both Mario and The Forest scene done in Prismacolor Colored Pencils and My self designs done in HB Graphite. (Forgive the picture quality. My sketchbook was too big for my scanner so I had to take snapshots of them)

For about a week and a half I've been stumped. I'm still trying to get out of this rut. I hope to get out of it soon. Also, I am making an effort to do some originals, other than some fan art. I hope to be producing some outstanding pieces for all to enjoy.

This was one of my ID's for my dA account. I was rummaging through my old art pieces I post up, then I saw my old piece was like a muddy... scratchboard piece... so I decided to revamp it with my newly acquired skills!
Hmm... should I just add my name and it be a new Title Illustration for the blog? As I ponder this development I must come up with more work!!
Tinkerbell! Yup an Icon of Mass preportions! I enjoyed painting her, and I may see if I can try to add a background.
In other news. I am starting to be not too fond of my "Joshua Otero- Illustrator" heading pic so I am currently working on a new one!

So I had to venture out and find a book to redo. I found a children's book Called "The Rainy Day Fairy" By Brimax Publishing. I decided to make the Rainy Day Fairy about rainy days and the fairy who enjoys them. I still plan on pushing this a bit further even though this was the last project.. I am no graphic designer.. so I put up text until I can find a more appropriate one.
We had to use the term "Embrace" in any manner taken.. either dark, light, comical, or serious. Me? I chosen Comical... A wife's loving embrace to her husband. too bad V-day was 3 months ago..
I tried my hand at digital figure painting... some areas were finished others... not so much. still need to get the hang of painting as a whole... but I found some areas in them to be well painted. enjoy!
